The World of X-Men

General:

Scientists have discovered strange mutations among the genes of many people which gives them different appearances, personalities, and abilities. Some can heal rapidly, read minds, have telepathic abilities, control certain things, and there are many different kinds of powers. There are the powers that can be harmful, and those that are beautiful and for healing. The people with these powers became known as mutants. Humans are scared of mutants because they do not understand them. Many humans believe that mutants should not be alive, but many mutants believe they should have rights to. There are two major mutant forces. Magneto's force, which fights against the humans, and the X-Men, made up of mutants from Xavier's school, who fight on the behalf of the humans. Again and again the two sides fight in mutant wars, and on both sides, human and mutants, lose lives.

For years mutants have hidden from the humans, hiding behind their powers and in abandoned places. The humans are scared of mutants and some are ready to kill whatever they see just because they do not understand. An even greater war, between all mutants, and all humans, is just over the horizon.

History of the X-Men:

The X-Men team are mutants that know how to use their powers and are in control. They are the adults that have graduated from the school and are sent out on important, yet dangerous missions into the outdoors to help any mutant in need. The professor, Xavier, is the well respected 'leader' of the X-Men. They follow his orders, and do what they have to. They take his advice and will listen to him. But there are some things in which an X-Men will go on their own to do what they think is right. Cyclops is the co-leader of the X-Men group. He is the source of leadership when out on missions, and most of the X-Men team listen to him. For years, the team has grown from one person, to 5, with a few back-up mutants if they need them.

The Brotherhood:

The brotherhood is led by Magneto, co-lead by Mystique. Magneto has developed an armor that protects himself from being seen by Xavier when he uses Cerebro to find humans and mutants. Mystique's powers can change her from any form, from humans, to other mutants, to statues and other objects. She is often sent to do Magneto's dirty work. The brotherhood are trained to hate the humans and want to wipe out all of man-kind that oppose them, as well as any mutant that stands in their way. They are trained to be strong and use their powers to the utmost, and not for safety.
